Another productive year of service provision to children, their teachers and their families in Somerset and beyond. GLADE’s work during the year has been largely in the form of funded global education delivery through contracts awarded, with some schools and other organisations buying in workshops and training sessions directly. This has enabled us to provide subsidised workshops for schools which we hope will lead to our Continuous Professional Development being selected more often by schools in the future.
EU-funded Makutano Junction project:- 23 schools from Somerset & Gloucestershire, 71 teachers trained in use of multi media materials in the classroom , and a total of 611 pupils taking part
Diocese of Bath & Wells “Spirit of Wells” Leavers’ Days:- over 400, Year 6 pupils from Church of England Primary Schools in the Diocese of Bath and Wells took part in practical activities from our “Global Bites” repertoire; papel picado, worry dolls and adinkra printing.
British Council Connecting Classrooms:- just under 1,000 educators took part in training through 55 in-school workshops and 6 workshops in teacher training institutions. Successful delivery of this national contract on target and in budget.
