DESCRIPTION:The Anti-slavery Day Act 2010 is an Act of the Parliament of th
 e United Kingdom to introduce a national day to raise awareness of the nee
 d to eradicate all forms of slavery\, human trafficking and exploitation. 
 Anti-Slavery Day is 18 October.[1]\n\nThe main provision of the Act reads 
 as follows:\nAnti-Slavery Day\n\nThe Secretary of State shall by order mad
 e by statutory instrument specify a date which shall be observed each year
  as Anti-Slavery\n\n 	The purpose of Anti-Slavery Day shall be to—\n\n 	
 acknowledge that millions of men\, women and children continue to be victi
 ms of slavery\, depriving them of basic human dignity and freedom\;\n 	rai
 se awareness amongst young people and others of the dangers and consequenc
 es of slavery\, human trafficking and exploitation and encourage them to b
 e proactive in the fight against it\;\n 	draw attention to—\n\n 	the pro
 gress made by government and those working to combat all forms of slavery\
 , human trafficking and exploitation\, and\n 	what more needs to be done.\
 n\n\n\n\n 	In this Act “slavery” includes—\n\n 	trafficking for sexu
 al exploitation\,\n 	child trafficking\,\n 	trafficking for forced labour\
