On Oct. 2 commemorating Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday and the International day of Non-Violence, the Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon calls “on global citizens everywhere to be inspired by the courage of people like Mahatma Gandhi. Turn your back to division and hatred; stand up for what is right and just.” With statements from the presidents of India and South Africa, the event ended with a beautiful musical surprise.
