Almost a million people in Malawi live with HIV; AIDS is the leading cause of death amongst adults in the country.

So the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation has been working there to help stop newborn babies becoming infected, helping women and their babies gain access to HIV testing and treatment.

To overcome the crippling transport challenges and reach remote communities with these crucial diagnostic tests, the charity has teamed up with a group of specially trained motorbike couriers called Riders for Health.

Madalitso and Kufa are two of Malawi’s first riders. They shared their stories with the BBC.
