Delegates of the Third Committee of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in which designated July 15 as a World Youth Skills Day.
“The UN General Assembly invites all member states, organizations of the UN system and other international and regional organizations and civil society to mark the World Youth Skills Day appropriately, taking into account national priorities, including through awareness-raising campaigns, events with the participation of volunteers and outreach activities,” reads the resolution.
The delegates of the General Assembly expressed concern about the high number of unemployed young people, which in 2013 is estimated amounted worldwide 74.5 million people”.
